New home wanted: British Moth #527 ‘Terrapin’
This boat was built and has been solely owned by a former MSC Rear Commodore who was a skilled cabinet-maker - which is evident in the build quality. The all-wood boat has been dry-stored for some considerable time, and appears to be sound and undamaged throughout, although in need of a good clean and some repainting.
Complete with rudder assembly, centreboard, original alloy mast, 2x wood booms, 2x rope-foot sails, standing & running rigging, launching trolley.
It has full buoyancy chambers with hatches, and has been buoyancy tested and approved.
Photos as taken March’25. Certified/numbered & buoyancy approved by MSC's Brian Coates in 1972.
The boat can be viewed in Oxford – its owner would like to find a new and caring home.
